Housed in a magnificently restored 18th century townhouse that has seen a variety of owners including Lords, MP’s, The Jameson Distilling family and the City of Dublin Technical School, 18 Parnell Square has been home to the Dublin Writers Museum since 1991. The Irish literary tradition is one of the most illustrious in the world. Ireland has produced four Nobel Prize Winners and many other writers of international renown. Swift and Wilde, Shaw and Yeats, Joyce and Beckett are among those presented through their books, letters, portraits and personal items.

The conference wing is situated in a quiet area at the back of the building, convenient for delegates who also wish to tour the museum or simply to seek inspiration from the portraits in the corridors. Both lecture rooms are bright, spacious, comfortable and ideal for formal and informal conferences, training courses, workshops and meetings.

The Shaw Room can seat 60 people theatre style and 25 boardroom style.
The larger Beckett Room can cater for 100 theatre style and 40 boardroom style.

We can supply an overhead projector and screen, Flipchart, PA System, Lecturn, TV & Video, Slide Projector, facsimile and photocopying facilities. Refreshments can be arranged in the vicinity of the Lecture Rooms or in the Coffee Shop on the ground floor.
